2021 Graduate Spolight: Julie Hardaker

Can you imagine what it must feel like to graduate college in the middle of an ongoing worldwide pandemic? Well, some of our scholarship recipients can. Learn more about their experiences in this series of College Fund Graduate Spotlights!

Meet Julie! She graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Nursing.

As you can imagine, the changes that came along with the pandemic directly impacted Julie’s learning experience. When she returned to in-person learning in the fall of 2020, a lot had changed. “Being in the hospital was nerve racking,” she said. “It was a big learning challenge but it has only made me a better nurse.”

Prior to the pandemic Julie studied healthcare in Spain for two weeks and was a senator in the student government for three years. Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, Julie graduated Summa Cum laude!

She looks forward to attending graduate school in the future to be a family nurse practitioner.
